Step 1. Find a qualified agent in the area of interest. Experience is the most important factor in selecting a real estate agent in Jaco Beach. Using a qualified and licensed agent in Costa Rica will save you time and money. Not only will he/she do much of the grunt work, your agent will possess a deeper market knowledge, which is especially important in a market without a multiple listing system.

  •  Are you going to occupy it or are you buying it strictly as an investment?
  •  What area and vicinity is of most interest to you?
  •  What are your investment objectives?
  •  Are you paying cash for the property if you need to finance it do you have a lender that you work with?

Step 3. Conduct inspection tours. Your broker will help sift through all the undesirable properties to narrow down your search so you can determine which best meets your expectations. As you view the properties try to rank them based on which meet your most important requirements (ie anything you cannot live without vs. what you might be able to work around and those desirable-but-not-necessary items.

Hermosa Beach Turtle Reserve

Hermosa Beach Turtle Reserve

If you are in the Jaco area during the Turtle season you can not miss the early morning (4:30-5am) adventure that comes with assisting Minae (a government conservation organization) in their efforts to protect turtle eggs and the beach.  The Playa Hermosa Turtle Reserve extends for 12 km of beachfront where the turtles lay eggs between April and November and hatch during November through March.

Located on the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, in the Southern part of Hermosa Beach, directly South of Jacó. Their you will find the the most important nesting ground for the Olive Ridley Sea Turtle, although it also protects the Green Turtles and the rare Hawksbill Turtles.

Visitors can assist the staff and volunteers by helping to collect the eggs, place them in a protected area and release the babies that are ready to enter the great wild.
