LIFESTYLE OVERVIEW: The more popular areas in the Central and South Pacific coast offer an excellent mix of the endless summer many dream about and the amenities and services needed to live comfortable. The Central Pacific beach towns are only a little over an hour to the Central Valley the international airport and is the most visited and developed costal zones in the country. Towns such as Herradura and Jaco Beach are the middle ground options in the country including demographic, climate, amenities, services and real estate prices.
Here you will find private clinics, public hospitals, English speaking churches, women’s groups, world renown deep sea fishing and surfing, bird watching and many other outdoor activities, restaurants, bars, Private Schools and more.
As you head south you find yourself deeper in the more remote rainforest. You won’t see much for about 40 kilometers (24.9 mi.), at which point you’ll hit Dominical, known for its surfing. This area attracts foreigners looking
to buy property on the coast but away from big resorts. Even further south, you will find the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica’s Amazon, where settlement is sparser and services fewer and further
DEMOGRAPHIC: The central pacific is home to many foreigners making it easy to get by without speaking Spanish although you bi-lingual skills may be challenged as emerce yourself in the local events and Costa Rican community. Both Costa Rican (from the central valley) and international tourism doubles the size of the more popular resort towns (Jaco, Quepos/ Manuel Antonio) in
the high season offering plenty of job opportunities and vacation rental potential.
CLIMATE: The central Pacific coast has a wet season and a dry season (May–November, and December–April, respectively), but this area’s dry season is not nearly as dry as that of Guanacaste, where virtually no rain falls. The further south you go, the wetter it becomes. Temperatures hover around 30°C/86°F in the dry season, a little lower in the wet season. The southern zone is wetter, hotter, and more lushly verdant than the central coast
REAL EASTE: The Central Pacific is home to some of the nicest resorts and more affordable gated communities on the coast. Even though the area is developed, there are many deals springing up that rival other less developed more remote areas. This zone is also home to the majority of the titled beachfront in the country.
